The Director's Story
A programme for secondary school media studies students

Part of Media Studies Stories
Screen Directors'Guild of New Zealand

Raye Freedman Centre, Auckland, New Zealand
10 July 2013

THE DIRECTOR'S STORY is an opportunity for young people to learn from professionals exactly what directing a feature film, commercials, documentary or television drama involves.  Four working directors will share their knowledge, experience and hard fought lessons with the students.

These directors will discuss the specific process their discipline involves: from research, planning and writing to what actually happens on a shoot and how it all comes together in post production.

This is a chance for young people to gain an understanding of the film and television industry from experts, including the nuts and bolts, the ideas, and the art.

Michael spoke on Directing a Television Drama
