THE THREEPENNY OPERA (theatre):  Michael will direct The Threepenny Opera by Bertolt Brecht for Silo Theatre and The Large Group at the Maidment Theatre, 29 May-21 June 2008.  See homepage for more info.

SATURDAY MORNING WITH KIM HILL (radio):  Michael will be interviewed by Kim Hill on Saturday Morning (8 a.m. until noon) on National Radio, 31 May 2008.  National Radio is available to listen to via the internet; click here.

BITCH SLAP (film):  Michael will star in the feature film Bitch Slap which is currently filming in the US.  See homepage for more info.

NEW ZEALAND INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS 2008 GALA AWARDS DINNER (hosting):  Michael will host, with Jennifer Ward-Lealand, the New Zealand Institute of Architects 2008 Gala Awards Dinner on 24 May 2008 at Sky City, Auckland.

WIZARD'S FIRST RULE (tv):   Michael will direct an episode of Wizard's First Rule, a new American syndicated tv show produced by Ghost House Pictures, which will begin showing fall 2008.

THE LAST MAGIC SHOW (film):  Michael appears as the magician's unscrupulous agent in The Last Magic Show.  The film opens in New Zealand on 29 May 2008.  See The Last Magic Show website.

HANSEL AND GRETEL (opera):  Michael will direct Englebert Humperdink's Hansel and Gretel for NBR New Zealand Opera, to be presented on a national tour of fifteen New Zealand locations.  See the Opera's website for additional information.
NAVIGATING THE TEXTUAL SEA (speaking):  Michael will be the after-dinner speaker at the conference Navigating the Textual Sea, presented by the New Zealand Association for the Teaching of English, 9-11 July 2008 at Takapuna Grammar School.
BLACKBIRD (theatre):  Michael will star as Ray in David Harrower's Blackbird for Auckland Theatre Company at the Maidment Theatre, 4-27 September 2008.

WE'RE HERE TO HELP (film):  Michael has been cast in a major support role as Rodney Hide in the New Zealand film We're Here to Help, directed by Jonathan Cullinane and produced by South Pacific Pictures.  Region 4 dvd scheduled to be released 16 April 2008 in New Zealand.   See the film's website for the trailer and other information.

THE TATTOOIST (film):  Michael is playing Crash, a major support role in the film The Tattooist which was filmed in New Zealand.   It is now available on dvd in New Zealand and is scheduled for release on dvd in Australia on 4 June 2008.  See our Tattoooist page for review, pics, etc.

THE ADVENTURES OF VOOPA THE GOOLASH (tv):  Michael is voicing two characters, Moogabi and Choo, in a new animated kids' tv show, The Adventures of Voopa the Goolash, being produced by Photon Animation.  Click here to watch the promo video; read the April 2008 press release here.

THE MAP READER (film):  Michael was cast in a support role as the father, Ben, in the New Zealand film The Map Reader, directed by Harold Brodie.

An article dated 25 April 2003 on the Rocky Horror Preservation Foundation website reported that Michael would reprise his role as Riff Raff in a tv movie re-make of the Rocky Horror Picture Show for Fox TV; however, Michael is not involved with any Rocky Horror movie.
